Life-saving Resp Elixir: the remedy for coughing?

There are stories that we don’t have to write – riders tell them for us through their own experiences. Hanna’s message is exactly like this. It is the story of a long, challenging journey, full of uncertainty, perseverance, and small steps – all the way to the point where the results finally begin to show. Resp Elixir brought a turning point – but how exactly? You’ll find out below.

“I owe my thanks to the Meglio team!

We bought Dühit in April 2024, not knowing what a long and difficult journey lay ahead of us. As time went on, his condition kept getting worse: coughing, labored breathing, rapid breathing, constant nasal discharge. We tried everything to help him, but after the diagnosis of heaves, it became clear that a huge challenge awaited us.

We changed stables, bought an inhaler, adjusted bedding and feeding, switched to hay pellets, alfalfa pellets, flaxseed oil… there was a time when he could barely move properly even at a walk, even the lightest work was exhausting for him, he lost a lot of weight, and our hearts broke for him every single day.

That’s when we discovered the amazing products of Meglio Horse. Resp Elixir gave us the final push we needed: his breathing calmed down, the nasal discharge gradually disappeared, and the coughing stopped. In addition, flaxseed oil and MSM joint support also contributed to Dühös’s recovery.

Today, Déva Dühös is thriving again.

After two years of struggle, he regained his zest for life, built muscle, and returned to the dressage arena. The symptoms of heaves are now just a memory. 🐎✨

I am endlessly grateful to the Meglio Horse team, as well as to my parents and my trainer, Dominik Nagy, who never gave up, believed in us, and helped make my biggest dream come true. ❤️"

How does Resp Elixir work – and what should you know about coughing in horses?

Coughing is not a disease, but a protective reflex through which the horse’s body tries to clear the airways of irritants – dust, mold, pollen, or accumulated mucus. The problem begins when this condition becomes persistent: the mucous membrane is constantly irritated, inflammation develops, mucus production increases, the airways narrow, and breathing becomes more difficult. This creates a self-perpetuating process, which can easily turn into a chronic condition without proper treatment, such as heaves.

The treatment of respiratory issues therefore does not depend on a single step. Proper management, a dust-free environment, and well-structured feeding form the foundation – everything else builds on this. Within this system, Resp Elixir plays a role: it does not simply mask symptoms, but supports airway function and regeneration at multiple levels.

The herbs it contains – such as elderflower, chamomile, rosehip, and lemongrass – help soothe the mucous membranes and reduce inflammation, which is crucial, as one of the main triggers of coughing is the irritated airway surface itself. Essential oils – especially eucalyptus, thyme, and mint – support the loosening and clearance of accumulated mucus, thereby reducing the load on the airways and aiding natural cleansing. In addition, they contribute to mild airway dilation, resulting in easier, freer breathing. The plant-based components and functional additives in the formula also provide stable support for the body’s regeneration.

Resp Elixir therefore does not “stop” coughing, but eliminates its underlying causes: irritation, accumulated mucus, and narrowed airways. That is why its effect is not immediate, but builds gradually – yet it can result in stable and long-lasting improvement.

What truly makes the difference is that this is not just a theoretical concept. Hundreds of feedbacks confirm that Resp Elixir provides significant support from mild coughing to severe, chronic respiratory issues. In many cases, it delivers exactly that “final step” the body needs for real recovery.

It is important to note, however, that Resp Elixir does not replace veterinary treatment and does not solve management issues on its own. But as part of a well-structured system, it can play a key role in not only improving the horse’s condition, but truly restoring free breathing and performance capacity.

Thank you to Hanna for sharing her story!
