The Extra Care horse feed was created for horses with gastric ulcers, those prone to colic, or horses that require a grain-free* diet after colic surgery. It is a complex, well-utilized specialized horse feed that meets the unique needs of horses with digestive issues, while also supporting weight gain and replenishing used energy, making it suitable for both hobby and competition horses with high energy requirements. Additionally, it is particularly recommended for horses suffering from Cushing's disease, when fed in moderation.
Effects of the herbal content:
- Chicory: Reduces acidity, supports the proliferation of beneficial probiotic bacteria, and is rich in vitamins, zinc, calcium, potassium, magnesium, and iron. Since 70-80% of immune cells are located in the large intestine (which is home to most of the gut flora), it indirectly strengthens the immune system.
- Carob: Has antioxidant properties, protects the intestines from irritating substances, and is rich in vitamins (A and B), calcium, and minerals. It also contains pectin, a natural detoxifier and toxin binder.
- Milk Thistle Seeds: Liver-protective, proven detoxifier (evidenced in blood tests), proven stress reliever (reduces cortisol levels), improves skin, coat condition, and digestion, has anti-inflammatory effects, and is rich in natural vitamin E.
- Flaxseed: Protects the mucous membranes of the digestive system and maintains the health of the stomach and intestines. It improves the condition of the coat and skin.
Composition: carrot slices, malt sprouts, grass pellets, alfalfa meal, rice bran, flaxseed meal, carob, chicory, sunflower oil, MCP, magnesium oxide, immune booster (including milk thistle seeds), horse premix.
